Where were you born and what has been your living story as it relates to Physical Therapy?
I was born in New York and raised in Athens, Greece. This unique background gave me a global view of healthcare and learning. Early on, I was fascinated by human science. I worked in a research neuroscience lab. There, I co-authored a published paper on brain chemistry. This deep interest in the human body led me to Physical Therapy. I earned my Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the College of Staten Island (CUNY). Today, I hold active licenses in both New York and New Jersey.
Over the past 17 years, I have cared for many different patients. Early in my career, I worked in early intervention. I helped toddlers aged 0 to 3 overcome developmental delays. For the past 15 years, I have practiced in outpatient orthopedic clinics across New York and New Jersey.
I always want to give my patients the absolute best care. Because of this, I never stop learning. I am currently enrolled in a fellowship program with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. I also hold certifications in spinal manipulation, dry needling, and blood flow restriction therapy. My goal is to combine advanced hands-on techniques with modern science. This helps my patients regain their strength, movement, and confidence.
What is your favorite thing about practicing Physical Therapy?
My favorite part of physical therapy is empowering patients to take back control of their health. I love helping them improve how their bodies function every day. I view my role as an educator and a guide, not just a clinician.
Every person has a unique life, job, and injury history. I find it fascinating to learn these individual stories. Truly understanding a patient allows me to build a custom treatment plan that fits them perfectly. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a patient conquer chronic pain. I love helping people avoid unnecessary surgery and return to the activities they love.
